Mobile Fire-Rescue Department was dispatched for a report of a residential fire in the 100 block of South Lafayette Street in Mobile, Alabama, at about 11:02 a.m. Wednesday, January 31, 2024.
Units arrived on scene to find smoke visible from a single-story residence, where they made entry but found no fire inside. Further searching led to a small fire under the house, which was quickly extinguished. No one was injured in the incident. Investigators determined the cause of the fire to be accidental in nature.
