Steve Huffman Public Information Officer (251) 208-2857/Fax: (251) 208-2861 E-Mail: huffman@cityofmobile.org JUVENILE CHARGED WITH ARSON 2ND DEGREE Mobile firefighters responded to a house fire located at 455 Yevonne Curve, East, this afternoon, Thursday, January 24. Fire alarm operators received multiple calls reporting smoke coming from a vacant, single story, wood frame structure, the first call at approximately 4:05 p.m. When firefighters arrived they reported heavy smoke coming from the residence. Fire Investigators discovered multiple points of origin inside the structure, the main fire being in a front bedroom of the structure. Witnesses told Investigators they witnessed a juvenile leaving the structure just prior to the fires discovery. Investigators later arrested a 13-year-old male and transported him to Strictland Youth Center charged with Arson 2nd Degree. No injuries were reported in the fire that caused an estimated $40 thousand in damage. Engines 6, 19, 22, truck 5, rescue 24 and District 2 Chief Johnny Morris responded to the call. ###
