MOBILE, Ala. – At approximately 10:08 hours, Mobile Fire-Rescue Department crews were dispatched to the 8900 block of Julie Street in reference to reports of a fire inside of a residence.
Upon arriving on scene, fire personnel described light, grey smoke visible from the exterior of a single-story residence.
Fire scene operations were established, as crews extended charged hose lines into the home to search for fire.
Search teams swept through the interior of the home in an effort to locate occupants. Crews discovered a female resident down and unconscious inside of the resident. The unknown-aged victim was removed from the home. The patient was transferred to Mobile County EMS paramedics for on-scene medical care.
No other victims were discovered in the residence.
MFRD crews were able to successfully extinguish all signs of fire, saving much of the structure. The fire was confirmed under control at approximately 10:55 hours.
Fire Investigators (CFI) continue to review the scene and gather pertinent information, as the investigation is ongoing.
