MOBILE, Ala. – At approximately 18:11 hours, Mobile Fire-Rescue Department companies were dispatched to the 2800 block of Josephine Street for reports of a home on fire. Upon arrival on scene, crews confirmed heavy flames and smoke engulfing a wood-framed, residential structure. Fire scene operations were established, and fire suppression teams began their initial attack.
All occupants reportedly evacuated the home prior to MFRD arrival on scene. A thorough search of the interior of the property resulted in no occupants or pets found inside.
In less than an hour, crews were able to fully extinguish all signs of flames with no injuries to fire personnel; however, significant fire, smoke, and water damage were sustained to the structure.
MFRD’s Bureau of Fire Prevention is conducting an investigation into the cause of the incident. Updates will be provided as the investigation unfolds.
