John Hall Named May Firefighter of the Month

On the afternoon of Sunday, May 3, 2020, Fire Service Driver John Hall was returning home from retrieving his stepson in South Baldwin County. Proceeding through the town of Loxley, they happened upon an unexpected event and chaotic scene on Highway 59, in which Driver Hall made the decision to stop and render aid.

Just moments prior, a motorcycle carrying a man and his grandson collided with an SUV, killing the grandfather on impact and critically injuring his grandson. Driver Hall immediately pulled his vehicle up to the scene and instructed his son to stay in the vehicle. After assessing the scene, John provided emergency care to the injured child.

Driver Hall remained with the injured child until he was able to transfer care of the patient to an arriving Paramedic on scene. Eventually, Air Care transported the injured patient to a Trauma Center.

At work he consistently invests in others, working hard every day not only to improve his skills but also those of his coworkers. In the community of Stapleton, where he lives, Driver Hall is a member of the Volunteer Fire Department, serving as Assistant Chief. He teaches and mentors others at weekly training sessions. 

Driver Hall’s actions are a testament to his character and dedication to those around him.
