INCENDIARY FIRE DAMAGES HOUSE
Firefighters from Mobile Fire-Rescue Department responded to a fire in a vacant structure being remodeled located at 545 Charles Street on Friday morning, June 16, 2000. The call was received at approximately 5:57 a.m. and firefighters arrived at approximately 6:03 a.m. The fire appears to have originated on the north side of the structure in a rear room. The fire extended into the ceiling/attic throughout and into 3 adjacent rooms of the one story, wood frame structure. The structure is owned by Willie E. Shaw and was in the process of being remodeled. The cause of the fire appears to be incendiary and remains under investigation. No damage estimate is available at this time. No injuries were reported. Engines 8, 11, 2, truck4, rescue 3 and District 1 Chief Harold Miller responded.
