House Fire on Bucker Place

Steve Huffman Public Information Officer (251) 208-2857/Fax: (251) 208-2861 E-Mail: huffman@cityofmobile.org HOUSE FIRE ON BUCKER PLACE Mobile Fire-Rescue received a report of a possible structure fire at 12:12 p.m. Tuesday, January 4 located at 2108 Bucker Place. Firefighters arrived on the scene reporting heavy smoke coming from the small single story structure. Firefighters made entry into the unoccupied structure and discovered fire in the hallway/kitchen area which had just about burned itself out. Investigators believe the fire may have been burning unnoticed for quite some time before being discovered. No one was structure and it’s uncertain if someone was living in the structure at the time of the fire. The fire appears to have originated in the hall and spread smoke and heat throughout. The cause remains under investigation at this time. Damage is estimated at approximately $10 thousand. No injuries were reported. Engines 9, 11, 16; truck 24, rescue 23 and District Chief LeAnn Tacon responded to the blaze. The Bureau of Fire Prevention is investigating. ###
