Steve Huffman Public Information Officer (251) 208-2857/Fax: (251) 208-2861 E-Mail: huffman@cityofmobile.org HOUSE FIRE CHADWICK COURT Mobile Fire-Rescue Department received a call for a possible house fire located at 23 Chadwick Court Monday, February 25. A neighbor reported seeing fire at the rear of the single story, wood frame structure at approximately 10:57 a.m. Firefighters arrived within minutes reporting heavy smoke coming from all sides of the structure. The main body of fire was discovered in the living room of the structure and firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the flames. After a search of the structure it was determined that no one was home. The fire appears to have started in the living room area on or near a sofa. The fire sent heavy smoke and heat throughout the interior of the structure causing an estimated $25-30 thousand in damage. The cause of the fire remains under investigation at this time but does not appear to be suspicious in nature. No injuries were reported. Engines 12, 15, 23, truck 10, rescue 24, and District Chief Billy Roach responded. The fire is being investigated by the Mobile Fire-Rescue Department’s Fire Marshals Office. ###
