Mobile, AL – At approximately 01:02 A.M., Mobile Fire-Rescue Department responded to the vicinity of Dauphin Island Parkway & David Drive, as passers-by reported heavy smoke in the area. The first arriving company confirmed a single-story residence fully-involved in the 2300 block of Hillwood Drive East. A full response was dispatched, and firefighters worked quickly to extinguish flames and salvage property. A search of the structure yielded no victims, as the property was vacant at the time of the fire. No fire personnel or civilians were injured during the incident. Upon initial investigation of the fire, the area of origin was in the rear of the home, but the cause is undetermined. Further investigation into what caused the fire is ongoing.
