At approximately 1:10 PM, Mobile Fire-Rescue Department crews were dispatched to 2674 Government Blvd for a commercial building on fire. Fire personnel arrived on scene to discover smoke and flames visible at the rear of a single story commercial mall.
Fire scene operations were immediately established. Suppression teams entered the front of the building and circled to the rear-exterior for a coordinated fire attack.
All occupants were successfully evacuated from the structure. A thorough search of all businesses confirmed that no civilians were trapped inside of the structure.
After approximately 25 minutes, all signs of flames were successfully extinguished. Crews evaluated roof conditions to confirm potential fire extension to businesses.
There were no injuries reported from the scene. The cause of the fire remains undetermined pending further investigation.
