THIS WEEKS FRIDAY AT THE FIREHOUSE
This week’s Friday at the Firehouse will be at Melton Fire Station, located at 57 South Lafayette Street.
Melton fire station was opened in 1969 and is home to the crew of engine 8, truck 17 and the district 1 chief. The crews also serve as the technical rescue team for the department which includes high angle and confined space rescue.
The open house will be from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Firefighters will be offering tours of the station and equipment, as well as, blood pressure checks.
The program is designed to encourage citizens to visit their neighborhood fire station, see the equipment and meet the firefighters assigned there.
Come meet your firefighters at Melton Station.
