FRIDAY AT THE FIREHOUSE
Fire Chief Mark Sealy has initiated a new seasonal program entitled Friday at the Firehouse, which will begin this Friday evening, August 4.
The program will begin after Memorial Day and end Labor Day. Each Friday evening a select fire station will host an open house. The idea behind the program is to encourage citizens to visit their neighborhood fire station, see the equipment and meet the firefighters assigned there.
Ashland Fire Station located at 2407 Old Shell Road will start the program off this Friday. Ashland fire station was opened in 1930 and is home to the crew of engine 12.
The open house will be from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Firefighters will be offering tours of the station and equipment, as well as, blood pressure checks.
Chief Sealy encourages everyone to come meet their firefighters.
