Firefighters Respond to Bedroom Fire

Steve Huffman Public Information Officer (334) 208-5806/Fax: (334) 208-5813 FIREFIGHTERS RESPOND TO BEDROOM FIRE Mobile Firefighters responded to a fire in a bedroom of a one-story, wood frame structure located on Redstone Drive, East Friday, June 16, 2000. The numeric for the house is unknown at this time. The fire was reported at approximately 11:33 a.m. and first firefighting units arrived at approximately 11:44 a.m. The fire appears to have originated in the north side bedroom of the structure and extended into the hallway. There was heavy smoke and heat damage throughout. No one was home at the time of the fire and the owner/occupant is not known at this time. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. No damage estimate is available. Firefighters did discover a dry fire hydrant but Mobile Fire-Rescue Trucks carry approximately 500 gallons of water. No injuries were reported. Engines 1, 18, 22, truck 5, rescue 1, District 3 Chief Mike Farver responded. ###
