One-hundred twenty young men and women from across the State of Alabama attended this two day event. The training consisted of Rope Rescue, Confined Space Rescue, Live Fire Attack, Hose and Search Evolutions, Fire Cause Determination and Candidate Physical Ability Test/Personal Protective Equipment Training. The weekend gave the young men and women the opportunity to experience what it is like to work as a firefighter. The Explorers also had the opportunity to hear information from several firefighters and administrators about how to become a firefighter, the physical demands, the importance of education and the 16 Life Safety Initiatives for the Fire Service. All the participants received a certificate for completing 16 hours of training in the Fire Service. The Alabama Fire College and Explorer Advisors from across the state have committed to make this an annual event. Our Explorers are already looking forward to next year’s event and their future as a firefighter. ### In the picture: Front Row: Wesley Shelton –Kneeling, Trey Stockman –Kneeling, Erica Krout –Standing, Eric Jackson, Jr. (EJ) – Kneeling Back Row: Myles Langley, Jeffery Boddie, MFRD Captain Philip Ballard-Advisor, Jordan Sanders, Brandon Dennis, Jesse Phelps, Ethan Cantin, MFRD Captain Todd Norsworthy, Advisor
