FIRE DESTROYS ONE BUILDING, DAMAGES SECOND
Mobile Fire-Rescue Investigators are looking into the cause of a fire at Wilson Mobile Home Service located at 6340 Theodore Dawes Road that occurred on Tuesday evening, October 10, 2006. The call was received at approximately 10:07 p.m. and when firefighters arrived at approximately 10:14 p.m. they reported a vacant double wide manufactured building fully involved which had extended to a second manufactured building and attached truck parked next to it.
The fire originated in the front right corner of the building which sat next to a power pole. The building however had no power connected to it. Investigators were told the building was to be used as an office. The fire also damaged a second building and a truck that was attached to it. The cause of the fire that caused an estimated $30 thousand in damages is still under investigation but appears suspicious in nature. No injuries were reported.
Engines 6, 7, 19, truck 5, rescue 7 and District 2 Chief Martin Stanley responded to the call.
