Steve Huffman Public Information Officer (251) 208-2857/Fax: (251) 208-2861 E-Mail: huffman@cityofmobile.org FIRE AT SAUCY Q BBQ RESTAURANT Mobile Fire Investigators are attempting to determine the cause of a fire early Thursday morning, May 8 at the downtown location of Saucy Q BBQ Restaurant located at 1111 Government Street. A call was received at approximately 1:10 a.m. reporting the building on fire with flames visible. Firefighters shortly after at approximately 1:14 a.m. with fire on the exterior of the building and were able to quickly extinguish it preventing further spread or damage. The fire appears to have originated on the exterior of the business and caused an estimated $6 thousand in damage. The cause remains under investigation and fire investigators are asking anyone with any information to please call the Mobile Fire-Rescue Department’s Arson Hotline at 208-MFRD. No injuries were reported. Engines 3, 8 11, truck 4, rescue 3 and District Chief Alex Trenier responded. ###
