MOBILE, Ala. – At approximately 12:47 hours, Mobile Fire-Rescue Department companies were dispatched to the 2300 block of Demetropolis Road for reports of a home on fire in the area. Upon arrival on scene, companies discovered a fully-involved, single-story, residential property. All occupants had safely evacuated the building prior to MFRD arrival on scene.
Additional fire and rehabilitation crews were immediately requested to the scene (12:54 hours) for assistance. Fire personnel were able to fight back and fully extinguish flames in approximately 23 minutes. All toxic smoke and gases were ventilated from the structure. No injuries were sustained during the incident.
The structure sustained significant smoke and fire damage. An investigation into the cause of the incident is ongoing.
