CYCLING FIREFIGHTERS TO VISIT MOBILE
Seven (7) firefighters from Houston, Texas, Arizona, Los Angeles, California and New York City are pedaling across America to raise money for hurricane relief in Florida. On Tuesday afternoon, February 1, 2005, between 5:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. they are scheduled to arrive at Mobile Fire-Rescue Department's Central Fire Station.
Mobile Firefighters will meet the cyclists at Highway 90 and I-10 and escort them to Highway 90 and I-65 where they will be met by another firefighter who will escort them into downtown Mobile to Central Station. The seven firefighters will be guest of the Mobile firefighters and will spend the night at the station and continue their journey on Wednesday.
The group has been averaging 100 miles everyday during an 8-hour ride. Their final stop will be in Tallahassee where they will present Florida Governor Jeb Bush with a check to assist with hurricane relief.
