Canal Circle North Residential Fire

At approximately 11:53 hours, MFRD companies responded to the 4000 block of Canal Circle North for reports of a fire in the utility room of a residential structure. Upon arrival, fire personnel confirmed smoke visible from the eaves of a single-story home. All occupants safely evacuated the structure prior to MFRD arrival on scene.

Units immediately began their initial fire attack, as they entered the structure to locate signs of fire. Crews were able to successfully extinguish flames, and ladder truck personnel quickly ventilated smoke and gas from the home.

No injuries were sustained during the incident. The cause of the fire has been deemed an accident, according to MFRD Fire Investigators.
