BUREAU OF FIRE PREVENTION MOVED TO NEW LOCATION
Mobile Fire-Rescue Department’s Bureau of Fire Prevention has moved to new offices which are located at 2851 Old Shell Road just east of Sage Avenue. The Bureau was previously located at Central Fire Station at 701 Saint Francis Street in the downtown area.
The Bureau of Fire Prevention is responsible for fire code enforcement, fire investigations, plans review, issuing permits that fall under the fire code. Permits must be issued prior to the start of any work. Some of those permits include:
Asphalt Kettle on the Roof.
Bonfire.
Burn – Jurisdiction only. No outside burning is allowed inside the city limits.
Fire Alarm System.
Fire Extinguisher Servicing.
Fire Sprinkler System.
Fire Suppression System (exp. Hood or FM200 systems etc.).
Fireworks – Professional displays only.
AST Aboveground Storage Tank Installation for flammable or combustible liquids.
UST Underground Storage Tank Installation for flammable or combustible liquids.
Tank Decommissioning.
