Mobile Firefighters responded to a building fire located ay 3950 Hamilton Blvd. Monday evening, February 12, 2007. The fire was reported at approximately 7:20 p.m. and firefighters arrived at approximately 7:25 p.m. reporting heavy fire and smoke coming from the two-story structure. The building is the former Tides Inn Club. The fire appears to have originated on the exterior at the rear of the building and extended to the interior. Mobile fire investigators are investigating this fire as suspicious circumstances. The building sustained severe damage causing an estimated $150-200 thousand in damage. No injuries were reported. Anyone with information regarding this fire is asked to call the Mobile Fire-Rescue Department’s Bureau of Fire Prevention at 208-7484 or CrimeStoppers at 208-7000. Engines 7, 19, 20, truck 24, rescue 7 and District 2 Chief Doug Cooper responded to the call. ###
