AUGUST FIREFIGHTER OF THE MONTH
Captain David Rose was nominated and selected to be the Mobile Fire-Rescue Department’s Firefighter of the Month for August. Rose who is assigned at the Communications Center for the past month has been working on an enormous project in preparation of the department’s merging to the Mobile County radio system. Rose completed hands-on inventory of every radio which includes mobile, portable and base station radios in the department’s inventory. With this information he compiled a spreadsheet with the type of radio, model, serial number and asset number. Because of his tireless work the department now has a comprehensive and complete inventory of al radios. With that information he has worked with the vendor on getting prices so that it can be placed in the 2006-2007 budget proposals. Along with the proposal he also gathered information for the new station alerting system. Gathering this information, putting it into spreadsheets and forms took many hours. Rose is a dedicated and valuable asset to the department for this reason he was presented this award.
The Pleasant Valley Opportunity Club (formally the Optimist Club) sponsors the Firefighter of the Month program and made the presentation on Wednesday, August 30, 2006. A picture of Rose is attached to this release.
