Steve Huffman Public Information Officer (251) 208-5806/Fax: (251) 208-5813 E-Mail: huffman@cityofmobile.org ARSON FIRE AT 7500 QUENCY DRIVE, SOUTH Mobile Firefighters responded to a fire that appears to have been intentionally set on Sunday, October 1, 2006. The fire was located at 7500 Quency Drive, South in West Mobile and reported at approximately 10:22 a.m. Firefighters arrived on the scene at approximately 10:29 a.m. and reported heavy fire and smoke showing from the roof and some windows of the 1-story, wood frame structure. The fire had spread throughout the attic and broken through the roof prior to firefighters arrival. No one was home at the time of the fire and charges stemming from this fire would be Arson 2nd degree. No injuries were reported in the fire that caused approximately $200 thousand in damage. The fire remains under investigation by the Mobile Fire-Rescue Department Bureau of Fire Prevention. Engines 1, 18, 22, truck 5, rescue 6 and District 3 Chief Frank Byrd responded. ###
