Arrest Made in Connection with November Apartment Fire

Kendrick Lebaryon Wheat, 32, has been charged with first degree arson after being arrested by Mobile Police Department early this morning, Tuesday, May 28, 2024, in connection with a November fire at Maison de Ville apartments in Mobile, Alabama. Mobile Fire-Rescue Department investigators had put out an alert in December to be on the lookout for Wheat.

On November 30, 2023, Mobile Fire-Rescue battled a two-alarm blaze at the complex on Berwyn Drive West that did major damage to a two-story apartment building, displacing dozens of families.
