Steve Huffman Public Information Officer (251) 208-2857/Fax: (251) 208-2861 E-Mail: huffman@cityofmobile.org APPLICATIONS FOR FIREFIGHTER BEING ACCEPTED The Mobile County Personnel Department has announced that applications are now being accepted for the position of firefighter until close of business (5:00 p.m.) on Friday, March 16, 2007. Qualified applicants should go to the personnel department located at 1809 Government Street between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Monday through Friday during the open application period and fill out an application. Minimum qualification requirements are: Graduation from a standard senior high school; or a combination of education and experience equivalent to these requirements (GED). Applicant must possess a valid Alabama Driver’s License. Check with Mobile County Personnel Department for other requirements. Mobile Fire-Rescue Department’s starting salary for Firefighter is $2,218 monthly plus benefits and $26,616 annually. The examination will consist of three sections: 1. a written test counting 50% of the final grade, 2. a physical ability test scored pass/fail, and 3. a rating counting 50% in which applicants will be scored on the basis of an evaluation of their education, training, experience and personal qualifications.
