Steve Huffman Public Information Officer (251) 208-7163/Fax: (251) 208-5843 E-Mail: huffman@cityofmobile.org AMERICAN LEGION FIRE DETERMINED TO BE ARSON Mobile Fire-Rescue Investigators have determined the fire at the old American Legion building at Government St and Dearborn St to have been deliberately set and need help in finding the person responsible for setting the fire. Surveillance video obtained from a nearby business shows a male subject setting the fire after 1 a.m. on Friday, October 28. In the video the suspect is seen setting the fire but it goes out and at approximately 1:35 a.m. the suspect starts the fire again and then is observed walking away. Fortunately the fire did not spread and was discovered and reported at approximately 6 a.m. the same morning. Firefighters quickly contained the fire and prevented it from spreading in the inside of the historic structure.
