Mobile Fire-Rescue Prepared for Mardi Gras

Steve Huffman Public Information Officer (251) 208-5806/Fax: (251) 208-5813 E-Mail: huffman@cityofmobile.org MOBILE FIRE-RESCUE PREPARED FOR MARDI GRAS Mobile Fire-Rescue Department will once again have its Special Events Teams on the streets during the Mardi Gras Festivities to respond to medical needs. The department will have 6 teams in pairs of two, strategically placed throughout the parade route. On Sunday during the Joe Cain Day Parade, Monday during the Floral Parade and on Mardi Gras Day there will be 9 teams working in pairs of two. The teams consist of 3 bike teams, 1 Golf Cart Mini Ambulance, and 2 Rescue Trucks (Ambulances). On Joe Cain Day through Mardi Gras Day the department will increase the teams with 1 additional bike team, 1 walking team and 1 Rescue Truck (Ambulance). The Parade Command Post will be set up next to the Mobile Police Command Post at Warren and Government Streets. Anyone injured or in need of medical attention during the parades should notify the nearest Police Officer or flag down one of the Rescue Teams, who will be wearing red shirts and/or jackets with "Mobile Fire-Rescue Department" in white on the back of the shirts. ###
