Steve Huffman Public Information Officer (251) 208-2857/Fax: (251) 208-2861 E-Mail: huffman@cityofmobile.org MOBILE FIRE INVESTIGATORS ARREST JUVENILES Investigators arrested three juveniles today, Friday, April 4 and charged them with Arson 2nd degree in connection with a fire that occurred on January 20, 2008 in a vacant house located at 2953 Edgewood Street. Firefighters were dispatched to the single-story wood frame structure at approximately 8:31 p.m. and arrived at approximately 8:36 p.m. reporting heavy fire and smoke coming from the residence. When firefighters entered the burning structure to extinguish the fire they encountered heavy fire inside the area of a bedroom. Property damage was estimated at approximately $5 thousand. No injuries were reported. Two of the juveniles are 13 years of age, the third is 14, and all are male and were taken to Strictland Youth Center. A combination of evidence and witness statements lead fire investigators to the arrest today.
