Steve Huffman Public Information Officer (251) 208-7163/Fax: (251) 208-5843 E-Mail: huffman@cityofmobile.org MOBILE FIRE-RESCUE RECRUIT CLASS TO START MONDAY Mobile Fire-Rescue will begin a firefighter recruit class on Monday, October 3 at 7:30 a.m. Twenty-nine recruits will begin their firefighter-emergency medical technician (EMT) training in hopes of becoming members of the Mobile Fire-Rescue Department. The department will also be training six from Prichard and one from Orange Beach fire departments. The training will take approximately 22 weeks, which includes firefighting, EMT, physical fitness, haz mat awareness and more. Successful completion recruits will be certified as firefighters with the State of Alabama Fire College and National Registered EMTs.
