Steve Huffman Public Information Officer (251) 208-5806/Fax: (251) 208-5813 E-Mail: huffman@cityofmobile.org LARGE WOODS FIRE IN THEODORE INDUSTRIAL AREA Firefighters and fire crews from Mobile Fire-Rescue Department, Theodore Volunteer Fire Department, Alabama State Forestry Commission and Degussa Chemical are presently working a large area woods/grass fire near the Degussa Chemical Plant on Rangeline Road in the Theodore Industrial area. No buildings are involved and firefighters have the fire contained, not out but contained, at the present time. The cause of the fire is not known at this time. The fire was reported to Mobile Fire-Rescue at approximately 11:15 a.m. Friday, March 1, 2002. Mobile Fire-Rescue responded 2 engines, 1 brush truck and a District Chief to the scene. ###
