5:48 p.m. — The cause of the fire has been classified as accidental caused by a space heater.
Mobile Fire-Rescue Department units were dispatched at about 12:15 a.m. for a report of a residential fire in the 2800 block of Josephine Street in Mobile, Alabama, Wednesday, January 22, 2025.
Units arrived on scene to find 2 residents evacuated and flames and smoke visible from a single-story wood frame home.
Crews made entry into the structure to attack the seat of the fire and to search for any victims inside. None were found. One resident was transported to a local hospital for non life-threatening injuries.
No firefighter injuries were reported.
Districts 1 and 3, Engines 12, 14, 18 and 21, Truck 17, Rescues 12 and 14, Rehab 1, and Car 80 were dispatched to the call.
