MOBILE, Ala. – At approximately 3:36 hours, Mobile Fire-Rescue Department companies were dispatched to the 2700 block of Josephine Street for a residence on fire. Fire personnel discovered a single story, residential structure engulfed in flames. Engine 12 was first to arrive on scene, describing conditions as “fully-involved.”
Fire ground operations were established, as suppression teams charged hose lines and search teams swept the scene for victims. Live power lines were down at the scene, adding an additional layer of danger for firefighters. Alabama Power later responded to the scene to assist.
No occupants were discovered at the scene, and the structure was later confirmed as vacant property. Firefighters did their best to save as much of the property as possible and successfully extinguished flames; however, the structure sustained significant damage and is being deemed a total loss.
No injuries were reported from the incident. The cause remains under investigation.
