INTENTIONAL SET FIRE AT THEODORE PARK PRESS BOX
Mobile fire investigators are investigating in what appears to be an intentional set fire in the press box of the Theodore Athletic Associations football press box located at 6685 Nan Gray Davis Road.
The call was received Sunday afternoon, January 30 at approximately 3:02 p.m.
When firefighters arrived they reported smoke coming from the top area of the press box and discovered the lock broken on the door. Once inside they discovered approximately 20 bales of hay, which were stored in the bottom area of the press box, on fire. The fire spread to the press box structure causing approximately $8 thousand in damage.
Investigators were told by representatives of the Association that the park has been experiencing multiple break-ins and acts of vandalism in other buildings on the property in the past.
Investigators are asking anyone that may have seen activity around the park or with any other helpful information to call the Arson Hotline at 208-MFRD.
Engines 6, 7, 19; truck 24; rescue 7 ,and acting district chief, Captain John Pitt responded. The Bureau of Fire Prevention is investigating the fire.
