Steve Huffman Public Information Officer (251) 208-2857/Fax: (251) 208-2861 E-Mail: huffman@cityofmobile.org HOUSE FIRE 8055 HOOPER STREET Mobile firefighters responded a reported fire in a vacant structure Monday evening, November 29, located at 8055 Hooper Street. The call was received at approximately 3:45 p.m. Firefighters arrived soon after reporting smoke coming from a bedroom window. Once firefighters entered the single story, wood frame structure they discovered the fire had burned itself out in the bedroom and there was just a small amount of smoldering material left to extinguish. Neighbors told investigators with Mobile Fire-Rescue that they saw someone entering the structure earlier and it could have been a break-in. The cause of the fire, which was confined to the bedroom, is under investigation. Damage is estimated at $10 thousand. No injuries were reported.
