5:11 p.m. — The fire was mostly contained to the attic, with some smoke and water damage inside the home. The fire was ignited by a lightning strike.
Nobody was home at the time of the incident. No firefighters were injured in the incident.
4:27 p.m. — Firefighters were dispatched at about 4:05 p.m. for a report of a residential fire in the 2200 block of Hillcrest in Mobile, Alabama, Wednesday, August 14, 2024.
Crews arrived on scene and reported fire and smoke showing from a single-story residence.
At 4:24 p.m., Incident Command advised the fire was knocked down and a primary search for any victims was all clear.
