Steve Huffman Public Information Officer (251) 208-2857/Fax: (251) 208-2861 E-Mail: huffman@cityofmobile.org FIRE OFFICIALS TO PROMOTE THIRTY-SIX Fire officials with Mobile Fire-Rescue Department will hold a promotion ceremony on Thursday, April 24 beginning at 11 a.m. at the downtown Saenger Theater for thirty-six (36) personnel within the department. The thirty-six, including two brothers and one son of a former Fire Chief will be promoted to position of Firefighter-Driver. The promotions are effective Saturday, April 26. Brothers Chad Sprinkle, 28 and Daniel Sprinkle, 23 are among those being promoted, The elder Sprinkle has over seven years on the department while his younger brother has over 2 years. Also being promoted is William D. Edwards, 45, who has over 19 years with the department and who is the son of retired Fire Chief H.H. “Buddy” Edwards, Jr. and the Grandson of Captain H.H. Edwards, Sr. Buddy Edwards served as Fire Chief from 1973 until 1981. Station 6 located on Hillcrest Road at Cottage Hill Road is named after him. Those being promoted are: Shederick L. Blunt G.
