Fire At All Pro Towing Ruled Accidental

Steve Huffman Public Information Officer (334) 208-5806/Fax: (334) 208-5813 FIRE AT ALL PRO TOWING RULED ACCIDENTAL Mobile firefighters responded to a fire at All Pro Towing Company, located at 361 South Conception Street, Wednesday afternoon, July 12, 2000, at approximately 1:55 p.m. Firefighters arrived at approximately 1:59 p.m. and reported heavy smoke coming from the one-story, wood frame structure. The owner, Mike Sheffield, told Mobile Fire Investigators that he and several employees smelled smoke and saw smoke going out a window fan and thought it was on fire. All escaped without injury. Investigators discovered the fire apparently originated in a middle room apparently used as a lounge. Investigators discovered remains of smoking materials near and on the sofa. The fire appears to be accidental and caused by smoking materials. Possibly ashes that fell into the cushions of the sofa. The fire extended into the attic of the structure and caused an estimated $20 thousand in damage. No injuries were reported. Engines 2, 3, 11, truck 4, rescue 3, District 1 Chief Martin Stanley responded. ###
