Mobile Fire-Rescue Department firefighters were dispatched at 3:09 a.m. for a report of a residential fire in the 2700 block of Emogene Street in Mobile, Alabama, early Saturday morning, January 25, 2025.
Engine 23 arrived on scene in about 4 minutes and reported heavy fire showing from a single-story brick residence.
Crews quickly controlled the fire and did a search for any victims trapped inside. Primary and secondary searches did not find any victims. The owner was out of town, but two dogs were reported to be inside. One dog was found dead and the other was not found.
Districts 3 and 1 Chiefs, Engine 23, 12, 8, and 9, Truck 17, Rehab 1, and Car 80 responded to the fire. There were no reports of any firefighter injuries. The fire is under investigation at this time.
