Mobile Fire-Rescue Department units were dispatched at about 8:12 p.m. for a report of a residential fire in the 2500 block of Eldorado Drive in Mobile, Alabama, Wednesday, March 27, 2024.
Units arrived on scene within minutes to find a vacant single-story wood-frame residence fully involved in flames. The fire was also burning on the corner of an adjacent home with its residents already evacuated.
Firefighters worked to extinguish the fire from the outside as the incident commander called for two more engines to respond. Flames were knocked down until entry could be made to gain access to the inside. Searches for any victims inside were made with no one found.
As of 9:27 p.m., crews were still on scene extinguishing hotspots.
District 1 and 2 chiefs, Engines 16, 19, 9, 23 and 6, Rescue 24, Truck 24, Car 80 and Rehab 1 responded to the scene.
The fire is under investigation at this time. No injuries were reported.
