MOBILE, Ala. – At approximately 13:12 hours, Mobile Fire-Rescue Department companies were dispatched to the 1400 block of Driftwood Drive North for reports of residential property on fire. Upon arrival on scene, fire crews confirmed smoke and flames visible from a single-story home.
All occupants safely evacuated the structure prior to MFRD arrival. A detailed search of the property determined that the home was “all clear” of civilians. Fire personnel did, however, discover and rescue the family dog and several pet snakes.
The fire was quickly located and successfully extinguished without any reported injuries. Fire Investigators have determined that the fire was accidental, stemming from an electrical point of origin as a television in the home sparked fire.
