Mobile Fire-Rescue Promotes 2 to Deputy Chief Position

Mobile, AL - District Chiefs Johnny Morris, Jr. and John D. Young, Jr. were presented before Mayor Stimpson and City Council this morning as Mobile Fire-Rescue's newly promoted Deputy Chiefs. Chief Morris, who has served on the department for more than 28 years, is the current Chief in charge of training. As Deputy Chief, he will still oversee MFRD's training division, but his responsibilities will expand to include Special Operations, Emergency Medical Services, and more.

John D. Young, Jr. has served the City of Mobile with Mobile Fire-Rescue for more than 35 years, with the last 21 years as a District Chief. For the last several months, Chief Young has acted in the capacity of Deputy Chief for the needs of the department. He, now, officially accepts the roles and responsibilities of the position with his promotion.
