11:20 p.m. — The single-story, wood frame residence initially had fire burning through the roof. Crews started with a defensive attack, knocking the fire down from the outside before being able to make entry. Firefighters also used water to cool a neighboring house to prevent fire from spreading to it.
At about 10:40, incident command reported that the fire was under control and that salvage and overhaul would be ongoing.
Primary and secondary searches for victims were clear. No injuries were reported. The fire is under investigation at this time.
9:58 p.m. — Mobile Fire-Rescue Department units were dispatched at about 9:51 p.m. for a report of a residential fire in the 100 block of North Carlen Street in Mobile, Alabama, Thursday night, June 6, 2024.
Crews arrived on scene to find heavy fire showing from the rear of a residence.
