Business Damaged by Smoke and Fire

Steve Huffman Public Information Officer (251) 208-2857/Fax: (251) 208-2861 E-Mail: huffman@cityofmobile.org BUSINESS DAMAGED BY SMOKE AND FIRE Mobile firefighters were called to respond to a building fire at Cindy’s Salon Solutions, located at 5851 Three Notch Road early Wednesday morning, August 15. The call was received by neighbors at approximately 5:17 a.m. When firefighters arrived on the scene they reported heavy smoke coming from the one-story, wood frame structure. Firefighters were able to quickly locate the fire and extinguish it. The business was closed at the time of the fire. The main fire was confined to the break area with heavy smoke and some heat throughout the building. The fire appears to have originated in a break area of the building. Mobile Fire Investigators found an electrical outlet and sofa near the fires area of origin. Investigators found several items plugged into the outlet. The fire appears to be accidental caused by an overloaded electrical outlet. Damage is estimated at approximately $50 thousand. No injuries were reported. Engines 6, 7 19, truck 24, rescue 7 and District 2 Chief Robert Thornton responded to the fire. ###
