Mobile Fire-Rescue Department units were dispatched at about 10:08 a.m. for a report of an apartment fire at Baptist Oaks Apartments at 800 Conti Street in Mobile, Alabama.
Units arrived on scene and saw smoke coming from a third story window. Crews entered to find that prior to MFRD arrival, a maintenance worker used a fire extinguisher to put out a fire inside an apartment.
Firefighters didn't find any extension of the fire. Crews used fans to clear the smoke from the building. The cause was determined to be accidental in nature. One apartment unit was damaged by smoke. No injuries were reported.
