Mobile Fire-Rescue Department units were dispatched at 5:51 p.m. for a report of a coastal water rescue on Audubon Drive after receiving a call that a man was possibly missing in the water behind the residence for an indeterminate amount of time Monday, August 5, 2024, in Mobile, Alabama.
Engine 7 and District 2 arrived on scene first. They were directed to where a man had been working on a boat lift on Dog River behind the residence. A ladder was in the water nearby. Crews used a pike pole to sweep the water nearby and immediately discovered the man submerged in the water.
Firefighters pulled him to the surface and began CPR. He was transported by Rescue 28 to a local hospital. His condition is unknown at this time
