Steve Huffman Public Information Officer (251) 208-2857/Fax: (251) 208-2861 E-Mail: huffman@cityofmobile.org APARTMENT FIRE CAUSED BY ELECTRICAL SHORT Mobile Fire Investigators have determined that a fire at 104 South Ann Street was caused by an electrical short. The fire was reported at approximately 9:10 p.m. Tuesday evening, February 19. The fire originated in the kitchen wall in the downstairs Apartment B. The fire extended up to the second floor into Apartment D. Occupants in Apartment B told investigators they saw arching in the wall and attempted to extinguish the fire themselves but were unable to do so. Apartments A and C received no damage. No injuries were reported and the fire caused an estimated $25 thousand. ###
