Andrews Street Residential Fire
MOBILE, Ala. – At approximately 01:11 hours, Mobile Fire-Rescue Department personnel responded to the 1800 block of Andrews Street for reports of flames visible from the rear of a residential structure. Upon arrival on scene, fire crews confirmed a single-story, wood-frame home was consumed with flames. All occupants had successfully evacuated the residence prior to MFRD arrival.
As a precaution, firefighters performed a full sweep and search of the interior of the home, confirming that the property was clear of civilians. The flames were successfully extinguished without any reported injuries, and all smoke and toxic gases ventilated from the structure. Investigators have determined that the area of origin was at the rear, exterior of the home, and flames quickly extended to the attic. The cause of the fire, however, is pending further investigation.
