Annual Boot Drive for Muscular Dystrophy Association
Mobile, AL – The Mobile Fire-Rescue Department has geared up for its annual Boot Drive fundraising event to benefit the Muscular Dystrophy Association (MDA). Muscular Dystrophy is a group of muscle diseases that result in increasing weakness in and breakdown of skeletal muscles over time. Unfortunately, there is currently no cure for this debilitating disease, which affects millions of people, but MDA is dedicated to finding a cure.
MFRD personnel will be staged at Walmart and Winn-Dixie locations around Mobile (see dates and locations below). Firefighters are asking citizens to help “fill the boot” for a worthy cause with any size donation. Smiles, handshakes, and warm greetings are also welcome and appreciated.
Firefighters will be on site from 11:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. on August 18th, 24th, 25th, 31st, and September 1st.
