Major Drainage Repair Efforts in the Works Across Mobile
Projects Will Address Situation Caused by Recent Heavy Rain Events
Mobile, AL – A group of drainage repair projects are in the works across the city after the recent major heavy rain events the city has sustained.
“After the recent heavy rains, it became essential that we get these repairs done as soon as possible,” said Council President Gina Gregory.
Next Tuesday, the City Council will take up an engineering design services contract for these emergency drainage repairs. The first series of projects will be in District 3 on North Drive, District 4 on Fleetwood, District 5 on Government Boulevard, District 6 on Cody Road at Milkhouse Creek and in District 7 on Twelve Mile Creek, Brookmoor, Marquette, Luckner Court and Bowie Court.
The resolution, cosponsored by Councilmembers C.J. Small, John Williams, Joel Daves, Bess Rich and Gina Gregory and Mayor Sandy Stimpson, would authorize the contract with McCrory & Williams, Inc. for the work.
Also being introduced for the first time next week will be three Capital Improvement Project contracts that will address street and drainage improvement and rehabilitation on Ann Street and in Trinity Gardens.
Under Council rules, new resolutions are automatically held over for one week to ensure that there is time for adequate review of proposed projects and contracts.
