City Council Votes to Name Park for Danielle Juzan
First Dog Park East of Interstate Named for Longtime Community Activist
Mobile, AL – The City Council voted this morning to name the new dog park at Crawford-Murphy Park for longtime community activist, Danielle Juzan. Councilman Levon Manzie and other city and community leaders broke ground on the park, which will be the first in the city of Mobile east of I-65, yesterday morning.
Councilman Manzie introduced the resolution that officially named the park in memory of Juzan, who was a longtime resident, community activist and park enthusiast. Along with her involvement in countless community activities and efforts, she played a major role in raising the funds for this park.
“It is a privilege to honor Danielle Juzan for all her hard work and unwavering dedication to our community,” said Councilman Manzie. “Her commitment to making our communities better is an example we should all follow.”
This dog park, located at Crawford-Murphy Park, is the latest of a string of improvements and upgrades to park facilities throughout District 2.
Also at the groundbreaking yesterday were Mayor Sandy Stimpson, leaders from One Mobile and Delta Dogs and many area residents.
